The third person on this list is Gertrude Lewis, aged 33. Born in Bournemouth, which was then in Hampshire, Gertrude is described as an 'Assistant Mistress.' In 1913 Gertrude Lewis was the joint secretary of the local branch of the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies. Gertrude was a Suffragist. By 1913 there were 50,000 such Suffragists across the land lobbying parliament for the vote.
