Extract from the school rules 1961, they include:
"No food may be sent to the girls during term nor given to them to bring into school"
"No newspaper (other than a local newspaper)or magazine may be sent to girls without the permission of the senior English Mistress. All books brought or sent ...must be passed as suitable."
"Permanent waves are strongly discouraged, since it is impossible to arrange for proper hair-setting during the term. In any case not more than 'ends' may be done."
