A page from the first ever school magazine. Eluned Morgan has been living in Patagonia, her 'adopted home'since leaving school. She visited DWS in November and spoke about 'many interesting things about the Welsh colony in that distant land'.
Her letter to the Welsh girls is also published on this website.
Interestingly, another item mentions former pupil Mattie Roberts. Mattie had qualified to teach cookery, laundry work, dressmaking, millinery, art and needlework. She had sailed to Australia with Miss Rutter (another DWS teacher) to teach at the Girls' Grammar school in Brisbane. The Headmistress there was Miss Fewings. Miss Fewings had been the Headmistress at DWS from 1886 to 1896.
