Dormitory at Glyn Malden, Late 50s

I was 8 years old when I started at Glyn and this was my first dormitory. It was known as the “Baby dormitory.” I recall that three of my roommates were only 6 years old. My bed and “top” (chest of drawers) are marked with an “x”. We were allowed to have a pyjama case, teddy or doll on our beds, and photos and a beaker with our toothbrush and toothpaste in it, on our tops. This photograph also shows the counterpanes with perfect hospital corners, which we learnt from Day 1.
