Closure of the Caerynwch Military Hospital, Brithdir 1919

From the School Magazine July 1919:

'The Caerynwch Auxiliary Military Hospital was closed at the end of March, and the following letter was received from Mrs Richards, the Commandant. In connection with the work done for the hospital, the special organisers, Miss Mitchell and Miss Ingram, wish Doris Wright, Dorothy Barker and Joyce Humphreys, mentioned as deserving even more thanks than the rest for their interest and enthusiasm'

Dear Miss Anstey,

The Hospital closed on 22nd March. I am writing to thank you for all the kindness you and the mistresses and girls have shown to the Patients during the two years we have been open. Will you please tell the girls how very much the patients have appreciated all their kindness - the entertainments - and the teas at Miss Maslins; and also what a blessing their gift of eggs were to those sick men who required feeding up,and also the weekly bundles of papers to the men who could not get out and about.

Yours sincerely,
M.Richards, Commandant
