'THE WAKEFILED SECOND SHEPHERD'S PLAY OF THE NATIVITY
From the Towneley Manuscript (fifteenth century). The Playwright combined the story of the Nativity with a pseudo-nativity, borrowed from folk-lore, involving a stolen sheep. The characters being a group of shepherds, Mak, a sheep-stealer and Gib, his wife.
