Fitting girls for suitable careers or home life

1960 prospectus - The Reverend Daniel Williams, D.D. under his will dated 26th June 1711 left funds for the purpose of promoting the education of English and Welsh children. DWS 'aims at fitting girls for suitable careers or for home life, and at training them in habits of sound work, courtesy and consideration for others'.

The accommodation included 'a magnificent Assembly Hall and Library', Orchestra room, Prefects' studies, Music Wing, Sick Wing and Girls' Common Room. It had accommodation for about 240 boarders between the ages of 7 and 19.
